Dear Community Members,
Hello, hello 😀 and thank you, thank you, thank you! It's been a heck of a ride so far, lol, and we're just getting started!
I know you all heard me talk about what I hope to accomplish during my time as your Empress. Let me reiterate some of those points (wink).
I would like to bring back a youth line. The youth are the future of this organization and we need to get them involved with this organization and with all parts of our community. I would like to have some, if not more, representation from each group within our community. Let's bring out every letter from LGBTQQIA+. And let's start practicing KINDNESS! We have so much to fight against outside of our community, we should not be fighting within our community! So many of us are underrepresented and even told we don't exist. And dammit!, WE ARE HERE!!!
We deserve to be seen, to be heard, to be acknowledged, and to be SAFE! Especially in our own safe spaces. And we need to do this together. Please and thank you.
Additionally, I want to help rebuild any "burnt bridges", I want to help reinvigorate this community involvement, and I want to remind the community of our motto and mission.
One dollar at a time has been our motto from the very beginning. And this is what we do. With your help. Our mission has been to help those less fortunate folx in our community.
I've been fortunate enough to learn from those who came before me. I have been mentored by them and I want to do all that they have taught me to do. I can not do this without your continued support and involvement. I'm hoping that will continue throughout this reign. I've also been there when we give back to the needy families and I've seen, firsthand, the gratitude these community members have for us and for what we've been able to do for them. The feeling this gives me is beyond anything I've ever felt. I encourage each and every one of you to come work with us. Get as involved as you would like to be. Talk to us, spend some time with us. Come have fun with us. Let's make everyone feel welcome, appreciated and safe.
I hope you will come out to our shows and help us to continue helping those in need. I look forward to seeing each of you when the opportunity presents itself. I'm shy, really I am, so please say Hiiiieee. I'll say Hiiiieee back. Thank you for this opportunity. And remember,
Kindness Counts.
Sincerely,
D'tra Madison
